We always welcome your thoughts and ideas for features to improve your Identifi experience.
We want to hear about them, and when possible, we try to accommodate your feature requests. We can’t honor every request, but you should never hesitate to ask.
Submitting a new Feature Request
You can make a feature request using a form, accessed by clicking here.
This form can also be accessed within Identifi under the "Help" menu:
Help -> Support
Click the Feature Request section:
Please ensure that you include all the details about this new or enhanced feature. It is very helpful to include examples or use cases to illustrate your need, because there may be more than one way to address it.
What Happens Next?
Our Product Management team reviews every incoming request and may ask for further information about the feature. They will then determine if:
- The feature is already implemented, but you require an upgrade in order to take advantage of the new feature
- The feature is already implemented, but it works differently than you may have expected
- A workaround is already in place
- Identifi has already determined that we cannot accommodate the requested feature
If your feature request does not fit one of the above conditions, your request is then evaluated against the Product Roadmap. The Roadmap includes the short- and long-term goals for the product. We will determine if and how your request fits into our Roadmap. Your request will likely fall into one of the following four categories:
- We have evaluated your request and decided that we will not develop the feature.
- Your feature request does not currently fit into the roadmap, but it may in the future.
- Your feature request fits the roadmap.
- The product team is in the process of developing this feature.
If your request falls into category 1, we are very sorry that we cannot accommodate your request, and we will assist you in finding alternatives if possible.
If your request falls into categories 2 or 3, we will enter your submission in the feature request backlog where it waits until we can schedule it for development. Depending on the nature of the request, the feature may only sit in the backlog for a brief time, but if the feature requires significant changes to our current codebase or our developers need to make other changes first, the feature will have to wait an unspecified time before implementation. We do not provide a timeline or commitment on when a request will be delivered or when it will make the next step toward delivery.
If your request falls into category 4, then your feature request should be available very shortly.
Status of my Request
When possible we notify you when your feature request status has changed but the easiest way is to check our release notes periodically. We release a new version of the software at the end of each quarter so you can check see if your feature has been implemented. Our Release notes are published here: http://releasenotes.identifi.net
